History
Beer Quarry Caves is a man made chalk limestone underground complex. First worked by the Romans over 2000 years ago. Beer stone was favoured by cathedrals and churches in southern England including Westminster abbey and Windsor castle! Quarrying at beer was at it's prime in the middle ages continuing until the 1920s when another quarry was opened. Working conditions were less than ideal as the quarrymen with help from children used hand tools such as picks and saws working long hours by candlelight.
The quarry at one time was used as a secret church another use was the storage of contraband smuggled by the likes of Jack Rattenbury! Now open to the public from may to September for guided tours and even weddings!

We do not send papered tickets. You will receive a confirmation email at the time of booking and an event detail email 24-48 hours before your hunt!
 
Deposits are non refundable or transferable. The final balance is due 2 weeks before the event. An invoice will be sent. If the final balance is not received, you will lose your spaces on the event. Final balance £15.
